Trading Analytics That Explain Why Results Happen

Reporting vs diagnosing results
A P&L line, a win rate and an average R are reports. They describe an outcome. Diagnostics ask the next question: which decisions produced that outcome, and would a small change in one of those decisions have changed the outcome materially. Diagnostics need more than the trade result; they need the layers behind it.
Basic metrics
Win rate, average win, average loss, profit factor and R multiple are the entry point. They describe the shape of the outcome distribution but do not attribute it. Two traders with identical basic metrics can have completely different processes underneath.
Process analytics
Process analytics attach results to the components that produced them: which confluences were present, which session the trade occurred in, which stop style was used, which management path was chosen. That is the layer where meaningful improvement decisions can be made.
Conditional expectancy
Conditional expectancy is expectancy computed inside a cohort. It replaces “is this strategy positive” with “is this strategy positive under these conditions.” The conditions are defined by confluences, environment tags, execution decisions and management style.
Rule adherence
Adherence is tracked as its own dimension. The comparison between rule-following trades and rule-breaking trades often explains a large slice of variance that was previously attributed to strategy.
Sample-size honesty
Every analytic view surfaces the sample size that produced it. A promising conditional edge over 12 trades is treated as a hypothesis, not a conclusion. Nothing produces false confidence faster than a chart of ten data points.
